State Nomination

State-Nomination (2)

State migration allows states and territories of Australia to nominate skilled migration applicants under a broad range of industries – to meet skill shortages in their labour markets and contribute to the economy’s growth.

The various states of Australia nominate skilled migrants for occupations that demand both provisional visas and permanent residency, allowing the applicants to live and work in the particular state of Australia on state sponsorship. To receive a State nomination, you must have an occupation featured on the State Nominated Occupation List and meet all the state and federal Government’s eligibility requirements.

The benefits of state nomination are

  • Priority visa processing with the Department of Home Affairs.
  • Receive 5 points for a 190 – Skilled Nominated visa towards the Department of Home Affairs points test.
  • Receive 10 points for a 489 – Skilled Regional Provisional visa towards the Department of Home Affairs points test.
  • An opportunity to live and work in the state that has nominated you.
