Skill Assessment

The Department of Home Affairs (DOHA) requires applicants to submit a ‘Skill Assessment’ report in support of certain Skilled visa and Employer-sponsored visa subclasses.
Skill Assessments are a process to test the applicant’s qualifications and work experience. They provide evidence as to whether the applicant has the requisite skills to perform the tasks of the role they have applied for in the visa application.
For each skilled occupation listed on relevant occupation lists, the DOHA has specified an assessing authority that may carry out skills assessments for that occupation. The DOHA will accept only a skills assessment conducted by the relevant assessing authority in support of an EOI for visa application.
